Hummingbird Gala Update
Every year, we would host our signature gala event, The Hummingbird Gala. However this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been forced to pivot. While our event may not look exactly how we envisioned it would mere months ago, the Alberta Diabetes Foundation is pleased to host the “Hummingbird Charm”; a “charm” being a small gathering of hummingbirds!
As safety of our guests is our number one concern, our gathering will be limited to the prescribe recommendation of the province for physical gatherings – and to remain socially distanced.
The Hummingbird Charm will be held at EVARIO Events Centre (Holiday Inn Edmonton South) on September 18th, 2020. Dinner will begin at 5:30 PM MDT.

WHY A HUMMINGBIRD?
Much like people with diabetes, the hummingbird has to maintain a delicate balance with sugar in order to survive. In many cultures the hummingbird is seen as a symbol of the sweetness of life, a sign of overcoming adversity, and persistence in the pursuit of our dreams. We name this event in honour of this creature that gives hope to thousands living with and overcoming diabetes.
