2015 Degner Matching Fund
Ted and Iona Degner along with their children, have been pillars of support for diabetes research. On September 25th, 2015 the Degner family announced that they would match all donations made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, up to $300,000 for the remainder of 2015.
The generosity began moments later with over $80,000 raised by individuals and corporations attending the Hummingbird Gala. From that evening until December 31, 2015 the Alberta Diabetes Foundation brought in an additional $311,000 applied to the Degner Matching Fund.
The success of this campaign was strengthened by a well timed mail out that highlighted the generosity of the Degner family, ongoing supporters, and donors of the foundation.
