For the Ones Who Raised Us is about honouring every person who helped raise us. This Mother’s-to-Father’s Day raffle celebrates family in all its forms – not just moms or dads, but also grandparents, siblings, mentors, and friends who have cared for us. It’s a reminder that none of us makes it on our own and that love comes in many shapes. At the same time, the raffle raises crucial funds for diabetes research, prevention, treatment, and care in Alberta.

  • Dates: Mother’s Day (May 12, 2025) to Father’s Day (June 15, 2025)

  • Ticket Sales End: Sunday, June 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

  • Draw: Sunday, June 15, 2025 at ~12:00 PM at the Alberta Diabetes Foundation office (1-020 Li Ka Shing Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton)

  • Prize: Winner receives 50% of total ticket sales (up to $10,000) in cash.

    The lucky winner could receive up to $10,000 (50% of sales), and every ticket you buy still helps fund local diabetes research.

    Tickets are sold in fixed bundles to give you the best value:

    • 1 ticket for $10

    • 4 tickets for $20

    • 20 tickets for $50

    • 100 tickets for $100

    Buy as many packages as you like – each $10 ticket increases your chances and your impact.

  • Q: Why is there an optional donation suggested at checkout?

    A: Zeffy (our online platform) is completely free for us to use, but it relies on optional contributions from donors. At checkout you’ll see a prompt to leave a donation for Zeffy This is entirely optional and goes to help keep Zeffy’s service free.

    Simply select “Other” and enter $0 if you do not wish to donate.

    • Eligibility: Buyers must be Alberta residents aged 18 or older.

    • Ticket Purchase: Tickets can be purchased securely online only. (Physical tickets will not be issued – your ticket number will be emailed to you.)

    • Ticket Packages: Tickets are sold only in the packages listed above. No other combinations or bulk sales are available.

    • Sales Deadline & Draw: Ticket sales end at 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The draw will be held at approximately 12:00 PM (noon) on Sunday, June 15 at the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (1-020 Li Ka Shing Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton).

    • Prize: The winner will receive 50% of total ticket sales (up to $10,000). The prize will be awarded as a cheque.

    • Draw Method: The winning ticket is chosen at random using an AGLC-approved electronic system.

    • Winner Notification: The winner will be notified by phone and email. They must claim their prize within 30 days of the draw, or a secondary draw will be conducted.

    • No Refunds or Substitutions: Ticket purchases are final (no refunds), and the prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash (no substitutions).
