A Legacy Born of Love
Turning a Personal Mission into 20 Years of Impact
Twenty years ago, Jules Germain and Sharon Stefanyk’s lives changed when their daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Driven by a parent’s determination, they turned a personal challenge into a community mission: The Jules & Sharon Golf Tournament.
What began as a call to action has grown into a cherished 20-year tradition. Through two decades of dedication—from sourcing silent auction prizes to building local partnerships—Jules and Sharon have become pillars of the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (ADF) community.
The Milestones:
Exceptional Leadership: Recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Philanthropists at the ADF Hummingbird Gala.
Full Circle: Their daughter, whose diagnosis started it all, is now a grown woman and a new mother—a living reminder of why this work matters.
Jules and Sharon are more than fundraisers; they are ambassadors of hope.
Their story proves that a single idea, born out of love, can grow into something extraordinary.
