Happy Long Weekend!

Kajal Dhaneshwari • Aug 01, 2020

The world is still under a global pandemic, but it is important to keep your mental and physical health in check.

With COVID-19 around, the risks for people with diabetes are much higher. With that being said, it is crucial to understand that taking care of our mental and physical health is a must.

With such gorgeous weather, this long weekend the urge to step out of the house may be much greater. However, it is important to take necessary precautions if you do choose to leave your home for rejuvination. The steps mentioned below apply to everyone and keeping yourself safe ensures that you are taking appropriate steps to protect others around you as well.

According to www.canada.ca , Canadians are advised to:
- wear a mask
- avoid close contact with people and crowded places
- avoid closed spaces with poor ventilation
- if you're feeling sick, stay home
- avoid large gatherings
- keep at least two metres distance from others
- wash your hand often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds at least
- sanitize your hands when outside, use a sanitizer that contains at least 60% of alcohol
- cough or sneeze into a tissue, dispose of the tissue right after and wash or sanitize your hands
- avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands

COVID-19 cases are rapidly growing in Alberta, however, to stay healthy and protect ourselves and others, masks are now mandatory in all indoor public spaces starting today. It is a temporary bylaw that enforces wearing masks or face covering in indoor or enclosed public or privately owned places as well as public vehicles.
